Looking after your kit
Happy Fit products are built to last. Here's how to keep yours going strong.
Yoga & workout mats
Wipe down after every session with a damp cloth and a drop of mild soap. Don't soak — the foam can absorb water and take days to dry. Air dry flat, never in direct sun (UV breaks down TPE foam over time). Roll loosely with the top side facing in to prevent the corners curling.
Resistance bands
Latex tube bands hate sunlight, heat, and abrasion. Store them coiled in their bag, away from radiators. If they start feeling sticky, dust them lightly with talc. Inspect for nicks or cuts before each use — a snapped band hurts.
Fabric loop bands can be hand-washed in cool water with mild detergent, then air dried. They'll outlast the latex ones by years.
Dumbbells & kettlebells
Wipe down with a dry cloth after sweaty sessions to prevent rust on exposed metal. The vinyl coating handles most knocks but watch hard floors — drop a kettlebell on tile and it's the tile that loses. A rubber gym mat under the working area saves both.
Skipping ropes
Use indoors on smooth flooring or outside on tarmac. Avoid rough concrete and gravel — they'll wear through a PVC rope in weeks. Wipe the rope and handles down occasionally; the ball bearings on speed ropes need cleaning every few months.
Bolsters & soft goods
Removable covers can be machine washed cold and air dried (no tumble drying — it'll shrink the cotton). Spot clean the inner if needed. Avoid wet practice — sweat through the cover and the buckwheat fill won't thank you.
